The Early Years Arts Activity Mapping Project was delivered in partnership with AYCORN (now Magic Acorns) in order to identify what creative provision was available to the youngest children in East Anglia and Cambridgeshire, and how this could be improved.
The report contains a number of findings around provision, as well as recommendations for the future development of creativity in Early Years, summarised as follows:
- Invest in and develop the sector
- Champion high quality practice models and dissemination
- Produce an EY arts quality toolkit
- Encourage artistic development
The full report is a useful tool for anyone working with 0-5s to reflect on best practice and learn more about the different types of arts provision in Early Years settings across the East.
A one-page resource, produced alongside the full report, outlining the key principles for Early Years Arts can be found by clicking here.
